Bio
Lindsay is a native Rhode Islander who is currently teaching third grade ESL at Webster Avenue Elementary School in Providence, RI. She previously taught at Mary E. Fogarty Elementary School in Providence, Ella Risk Elementary School and Calcutt Middle School in Central Falls. She is a 2012 graduate of Connecticut College where she studied English, Italian, Education, and Public Policy and Community Action. After graduating, she spent a year as a Fulbright Scholar in Florence, Italy where she studied a youth unemployment program and wrote and published a book of short stories about program participants. She lived in Italy another year after her Fulbright, teaching English in public preschools throughout Florence. Lindsay spent the next two years as the Special Projects Coordinator at Breakthrough Providence, designing and managing a professional development program for Providence teachers and building out Breakthrough's social justice curricula. Lindsay holds elementary certification in Connecticut and Rhode Island, and is currently pursuing her M.Ed. in Teaching English as a Second Language at Rhode Island College.
